HUBRE-UNITA

Cultural Heritage for citizens - event at UNIZAR

15/03/2024 & 22/03/2024

The Institute of Heritage and Humanities (IPH) of the University of Zaragoza  organises, in collaboration with the European project Re-UNITA, the activity "Revisiting the History of Art: Where are our female artists?", aimed at more than 100 students in the final years of secondary school in Zaragoza.

During 4 sessions, this initiative aims to raise awareness among young audiences of a series of women creators from different disciplines through the database created as part of the MAE research project - on Women Artists in Spain and directed by IPH director Concha Lomba - a digital web platform that brings together information on more than 850 women creators active in Spain between 1803 and 1945.

At the same time as familiarising themselves with the new database of women artists, the young students will broaden their knowledge of Art History by incorporating the necessary gender perspective that rescues hundreds of female creators of the contemporary era from unjustified oblivion.
